Page blocks reference

Every block, guild widget and section in the page editor, what it's for, its main settings and how to get the most from it.

This is the full list of what you can put on a page, in the order the editor's Add to page palette shows it. For how pages, the grid and publishing work, start with build your website.

Click a block on the page to open its settings on the right. Every block has Delete block at the bottom of its settings.

Colors that follow your theme

Most color settings show a row of swatches: your site theme's Background, Panels, Primary, Accent, Text and Muted text, plus one for a color of its own. Pick a theme swatch and the block follows the theme: change the theme later and the block changes with it. Pick your own color and it stays put. See site themes.

Blocks

Content you write yourself. All of these work on every plan and every game.

Heading

A title or headline.

  • Text, Level (Heading 1 (page title), Heading 2 or Heading 3), Size, Color and Alignment.
  • The font comes from the site theme.

Text

Paragraphs, lists and links, with a formatting toolbar.

  • Text, Size and Color.
  • Double-click the block on the page to type right there; select words to format them.

Image

A picture, optionally linked.

  • Image: paste a link, pick from your media library, or choose from Game Assets, artwork made for your game.
  • Description (for screen readers): a few words saying what's in the picture.
  • Fit: Fill the block (crop) or Show all of it. When cropping, Focus, across and Focus, down choose which part stays in view.
  • Corner rounding and Link (optional), which takes a full https:// link or one of your pages, like /about.

Button

A link styled as a button.

  • Label and Link.
  • Style: Site theme, Solid or Outline. Shape: Site theme, Square corners, Rounded or Pill.
  • Button color and Text color (solid buttons).

Video

A video player.

  • Video: YouTube, Vimeo or Twitch link, or Uploaded video file.
  • For a link, paste a YouTube or Vimeo video, or a Twitch video or channel. The editor shows a still; the video plays on your site.
  • For an upload, pick an MP4 or WebM from your media library. Uploads can Play muted on a loop (background video), which makes a great moving banner. Files are up to 50 MB and count toward your plan's storage.
  • Corner rounding, and Fit for uploads.

Shape

A colored panel or frame. Put it behind text to make a card, or use a border alone as a frame.

  • Fill, Border (thickness), Border color and Corner rounding.

Embed

Another service's widget on your page.

Paste one of these into What to embed:

To show Paste
Your Discord server's widget (who's online, a join button) Your server ID, or its widget link
Spotify A track, album, playlist, episode, show or artist link
SoundCloud A track or playlist link
Twitch chat A Twitch channel link

For Discord and Twitch chat, Look chooses Dark or Light. There's also Corner rounding.

Notice card

A wanted poster, a bounty, a briefing or a recruiting call, made to look like it belongs in your game's world.

  • Title, Line above the title, Text and an optional Picture.
  • Stamp (optional): a word stamped across the card, like "Reward", "Urgent" or "Classified".
  • Made of: Parchment, Carved stone, Riveted metal or Hologram.
  • Own colors: off, the card uses the material's colors; on, you pick Text and Accent.

Countdown

A ticking clock to your next weekly raid night, op or wipe day.

  • Label, Every (the day of the week), At (24-hour) and Time zone.
  • Lasts: how long the event runs, in minutes. While it's on, the countdown shows the While it's on, show text instead, like "Raid in progress".
  • Made of and Own colors, like the notice card.

Visitors see the time in their own time zone, so a raid at 20:00 in New York shows as 01:00 for someone in London. The clock ticks on your site; the editor shows it still.

Muster board

Which roles you're recruiting, at a glance.

  • Heading, then up to 12 Roles, each Open, Limited or Closed. Use Add a role and Remove.
  • Note (optional), like "Apply on the forum".
  • Made of and Own colors.

Guild widgets

Live data from your guild. They fill themselves in, so your site stays current without you touching it.

Most widgets share a few settings: Heading (optional), how many to show, and Text, Cards and Highlights colors. Some have a Refresh preview button, because widget data is cached for a moment; click it to see changes you just made elsewhere.

Roster

Your members and ranks, highest rank first.

  • Members shown (up to 200), Show ranks and Show avatars.
  • Lists active members once a page with a roster is published. Guests aren't listed.

Events

Your upcoming public events, next first.

  • Events shown (up to 20).
  • Only events set to public appear. Private events never show on your site. See events and roster.

Polls

Polls you choose to show.

  • Polls shown (up to 20).
  • A poll appears only when you click Show on website for it on the Polls page. Visitors see the question and options; vote counts show if the poll shows results to everyone, or once it closes. Who voted is never shown. See polls.

Loot

Loot hauls you choose to show. Only for games with loot.

  • Hauls shown (up to 20).
  • A haul appears only when you click Show on website for it on the Loot page. Visitors see the items and how many members need or want each, never who. See loot and items.

Items

A price list or showcase from your item database. Only for games with loot.

  • Layout: Cards with pictures or List (like a price list).
  • Category, Rarity and Order (By name, Highest value first or Rarest first).
  • Show values, Show stats and Items shown (up to 100).

Fleet

The ships your members and your org own, added up. Shows up in the palette once you've installed the Fleet add-on.

  • Layout (Cards or List), Category, Show totals, Ships shown (up to 200).
  • Show who owns each ship: members' usernames become public only if you turn this on.

See fleet.

Application form

People apply to join right on your site. This is the heart of recruiting with Spawnix.

  • Heading (optional), Button (the submit button's label) and After someone applies (optional), the thank-you message.
  • Text, Fields and Button colors.

Applicants give their name, email and (optionally) Discord username, then answer your questions. You write the questions, open or close applications and review them on the Recruitment page. While applications are closed, the form says so. Accepting an application emails the person an invite. See recruitment.

Memorial

Your fallen Hardcore characters. Shows up in the palette once you've installed the Hardcore Memorial add-on (World of Warcraft: Forever).

  • Layout (Cards or List), Show totals, Characters shown (up to 200).
  • Show who played each character: members' usernames become public only if you turn this on.

See Hardcore memorial.

Sections

Sections hold blocks. Add one, then fill it from the groups above.

  • Blank section: an empty canvas.
  • Ready-made sections for your game, laid out with blocks you can change, move or delete. Pictures and text are yours to replace.

Select a section (click its background, not a block) to set:

  • Background: Color, an Image with Image focus, across and Image focus, down, plus Overlay color and Overlay strength to darken or tint the picture.
  • Height, which grows as you add blocks lower down.
  • Phones: whether this section stacks automatically or has its own phone layout, with Reset to automatic phone layout.

From the marketplace

Sections you've installed from the marketplace appear here. Click one to add it to your page, then edit it like any section. Below them, Get ready-made sections (or Get more sections) opens the marketplace.

Classic sections

The original full-width sections. They still work and still look good; the newer grid sections are more flexible.

Section What it's for Main settings
Hero A full-width banner with a heading and a call-to-action button Heading, Subheading, Alignment, Button Text, Button URL, a solid color or image background, Text Color, Min Height
About A picture beside a block of text Heading, Body Text, Image, Image Position (left or right), colors
Text Rich text in a column Text, Max Width, Padding, colors

The classic Roster and Events sections are marked Premium: they need Commander or Admiral. On the free Recruit plan, use the Roster and Events guild widgets instead, which do the same job on every plan.

See build your website for setting up the menu.

Which blocks need what

Block Needs
Loot, Items A game with loot hauls (every game except Foundation: Galactic Frontier)
Fleet A game with loot, plus the Fleet add-on
Memorial The Hardcore Memorial add-on (World of Warcraft: Forever)
Application form Applications opened on the Recruitment page

Premium marketplace sections Commander or Admiral

Everything else works on every plan. Add-ons come from the marketplace; see add-ons.

Tips and tricks

  • Build a recruiting page from three blocks: a Muster board of open roles, a Countdown to your next raid night, and an Application form under them.
  • The Discord Embed shows who's online right now. On a home page it quietly says "this guild is active".
  • An uploaded MP4 set to Play muted on a loop (background video) behind a heading makes a striking banner. Keep it short and small, since it counts toward storage.
  • Give every image a Description (for screen readers). It helps visitors who use screen readers, and it shows if a picture ever fails to load.
  • Widgets only show what you've made public: public events, polls and hauls marked Show on website. If a widget looks empty, check that setting first.
  • Duplicate a styled block with Ctrl+D and edit the copy, so a row of cards or buttons matches perfectly.
