Polls

Ask your guild a question, choose who can see and vote, decide when results show, and share polls on your website and Discord.

Polls are the quickest way to settle "which night works for raids?" or "do we push for the new zone?". You'll find them under Polls in the dashboard, where members vote and see results update live.

Who can do what

Action Who
Create, close, reopen and delete polls Owner, admins and moderators
Vote Members at or above the poll's voting rank
Always see results The poll's creator and moderators and up

Guests never vote. Polls can also be created from Discord with /poll create (see Discord commands).

Create a poll

  1. Open Polls and click New poll.
  2. Write the Question (up to 200 characters).
  3. Add Details (optional) for context (up to 1,000 characters).
  4. Fill in the Options: 2 to 10 answers, each up to 100 characters. Every option must be different.
  5. Choose the settings (see the table below).
  6. Click Create poll.

Poll settings

Setting What it does
Allow more than one choice Lets voters pick several options, up to the number you set
Anonymous Shows vote counts only, never who voted for what. Leave it off for a named poll, where results list who picked each option
Show results After voting (the default), Always, or When the poll closes
Closes (optional) A date and time when voting ends on its own, up to a year ahead
Who can see it The lowest rank that can see the poll
Who can vote The lowest rank that can vote. It's never lower than Who can see it

The rank options use your in-game ranks (see roles and ranks). For an officers-only vote, set Who can see it to your officer rank. To let everyone see a decision but only raiders vote on it, leave Who can see it at the lowest rank and set Who can vote to your raider rank.

Voting

Members pick their answer and click Vote. After voting they can:

  • Change vote to pick again, then Update vote.
  • Withdraw to take their vote back.

If results are visible before voting, a See results button lets members peek first. A badge on each poll shows whether it's Anonymous or Named, how many choices are allowed, and any rank limits.

Polls are listed in two tabs: Active and Closed.

Results

What members see depends on Show results:

  • After voting: results appear once you've voted.
  • Always: everyone who can see the poll can see the results.
  • When the poll closes: results stay hidden until voting ends.

Once a poll is closed, everyone who can see it can see the results. The creator and moderators can always see them, so you can keep an eye on turnout.

Close, reopen and delete

Moderators and up see these buttons on each poll:

  • Close now ends voting straight away. Reopen opens it again.
  • Show on website lists the poll on your guild website (see below). It then reads On website; click it again to take it off.
  • Delete removes the poll and all its votes, after you confirm.

A poll with a closing time closes on its own when that time passes.

Plan limit: open polls

The free Recruit plan allows 3 open polls at a time. Commander and Admiral have no limit. Closed polls and polls past their closing time don't count, so close an old poll to make room. Reopening a poll counts as opening one. See plans and billing.

Show a poll on your website

Click Show on website on a poll, then add the Polls block to a page of your website (see page blocks). The block lists only polls you've marked this way, open ones first. A poll with a rank limit on Who can see it never shows on the website, even when marked, since anyone can read your website.

Visitors see the question, the options and whether it's open or closed. They can't vote on the website. Vote counts show only when the poll's results are set to Always, or once the poll has closed. Who voted is never shown on the website.

Polls on Discord

If your Discord server is connected and New polls is ticked in Discord setup, new polls are posted to your announcements channel with voting buttons. Members vote right in Discord, with the same rank rules as the dashboard.

  • Only polls with no rank limit on Who can see it are posted, since the channel may be readable by anyone.
  • Single-choice polls get one button per option. Multi-choice polls get a menu.
  • The post updates as votes come in. Vote counts show in the channel only for polls set to Always, or once the poll closes. With After voting, each voter sees the results privately after voting.
  • Voter names are never shown in Discord, even on named polls.

Polls made with /poll create in Discord allow one choice, show results after voting, and are open to everyone.

Tips and tricks

  • Add a closing time to every poll. It ends the vote for you and keeps you under the Recruit limit without having to remember to close it.
  • Use When the poll closes for elections and loot-rule votes, so early results don't sway later voters.
  • For scheduling questions, turn on Allow more than one choice so people can pick every night that works.
  • Use an anonymous poll for touchy topics. People answer more honestly when names aren't shown.
  • Put a "What should we do next season?" poll on your website with results set to Always. Visitors see an active guild that listens to its members.
  • Press G then P anywhere in the dashboard to jump to Polls.
