Raid Points

Run DKP (or whatever you call your points) with attendance taken from your raid events, awards for kills and charges for loot.

Raid Points is a DKP ledger and attendance tracker in one. Officers take attendance from each raid's event, award points for kills or being on time, and charge points when someone wins an item. Everyone can see the standings and the full history, so nobody has to trust a spreadsheet only one person can open.

Raid Points is for World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Forever guilds.

Install it

An owner or admin opens the Marketplace, goes to Add-ons, and clicks Install on Raid Points. Raid Points then appears under Operations in the sidebar. See add-ons.

What members see

Open Raid Points. The top shows how many raids were tracked in the last 90 days, how many members there are, and who has the most points.

  • Standings lists every member with their points, what they've earned and spent, their attendance (a bar and "raids attended out of raids tracked") and their last raid. Click a name to see their history.
  • History lists every entry, newest first: attendance, awards, loot charges and adjustments, with who added each. Pick a member to see just theirs.

Set it up (officers)

Officers are owners, admins and moderators. They get three more tabs. Start with Settings:

  • Call the points: DKP, EP, Raid points, whatever your guild says (up to 20 characters). The whole page uses your name.
  • For showing up to a raid: the default attendance points, 0 to 10,000 (10 to start).
  • Allow negative: off by default. When it's off, a loot charge bigger than someone's points is refused. Turn it on if raiders can take an upgrade now and earn the points back later.

Click Save.

Take attendance

  1. Create your raids as events so members can RSVP.
  2. After the raid, open Take attendance and pick the Raid. The list shows events from the last 45 days.
  3. Everyone who RSVP'd going is ticked to start. Untick no-shows and tick anyone who turned up anyway. Everyone, Who said going and No one help with big changes.
  4. Check the points each, then click Save attendance.

Saving again for the same raid replaces that raid's attendance, so you can fix mistakes without anyone being counted twice.

A raid counts toward the last 90 days from when its event started, not from when you saved attendance. Deleting a raid's event later keeps its attendance and points, and it still counts as one raid.

Award or charge points

  1. Open Award or charge and choose What: Charge for loot, Award (a kill, being on time) or Adjust (+ or −).
  2. Enter the points, and the Item or Reason (up to 200 characters), like "Bonereaver's Edge" or "Ragnaros kill".
  3. Optionally pick the Raid it belongs to.
  4. Tick the members it's for. Find a member… and Pick all shown make it quick to award the whole raid.
  5. Click Save for (the button shows how many members you picked).

One entry can be up to 100,000 points either way. To undo any entry, an officer clicks the trash icon next to it in History.

In Discord

/dkp shows the standings. Pick a member to see their points, rank, earned and spent, attendance and latest entries. The answer only shows to you. Members need to have signed in to Spawnix with Discord once for /dkp member: to find them. See Discord commands.

Example: DKP for a raid team

Your 20-person team raids twice a week and wants simple DKP.

  1. In Settings: Call the points "DKP", 10 for showing up, negative off.
  2. Each raid night is an event. Afterwards, an officer takes attendance: everyone there gets 10 DKP.
  3. For each boss kill, the officer awards 5 DKP to everyone present with Pick all shown and the reason "Golemagg kill".
  4. When someone wins an item, the officer uses Charge for loot with the item's name and the agreed price. If they don't have enough, Spawnix refuses and names who's short.
  5. Before the next raid, everyone checks /dkp in Discord to plan their bids.

Tips and tricks

  • Take attendance from the event every time, even on wipe nights. Attendance percentages only count raids you've taken attendance for.
  • Put the item name in Item when charging for loot. The history then doubles as a loot log anyone can check.
  • Use Adjust for one-off corrections or a decay at the end of a tier, and say why in the reason so it's clear later.
  • Agree prices before the raid and post them in your forum. DKP disputes are about surprises, not about math.
  • Pair Raid Points with Soft Reserves: reserves say who wants an item, points settle who gets it.
