Crafters
Members list their professions and the items they can craft, so anyone in the guild can find who makes what.
"Who can make flasks?" shouldn't take three pings in guild chat. With Crafters, each member lists their professions and the items they can craft, and the whole guild can search it, in the dashboard or with /crafters in Discord.
Crafters is for World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Forever guilds.
Install it
An owner or admin opens the Marketplace, goes to Add-ons, and clicks Install on Crafters. Crafters then appears under Operations in the sidebar. See add-ons.
The things members craft come from your item database. Add the crafted items your guild cares about (flasks, gear, bags) before you ask everyone to fill in their lists.
List your professions
- Open Crafters.
- Under MY PROFESSIONS, type a Profession. Suggestions for your game appear as you type (like Alchemy, Blacksmithing or Tailoring), but you can type any name up to 30 characters.
- Set your Skill (0 to 1,000) and click Add.
To change your skill later, edit the number and click away. Remove a profession with the X. You can list up to 12 professions, so there's room for your alts too.
List what you can craft
Under I CAN CRAFT, type an item's name and pick it from the list. Remove one with the X. If an item isn't there, it isn't in the item database yet; ask a moderator or admin to add it.
Find a crafter
THE GUILD'S CRAFTERS has two views:
- By item: every crafted item and who makes it. Search by item name or category.
- By profession: every profession and who has it, with their skill. Search by profession or member.
Click a name to open that member's profile.
In Discord
/crafters item:finds who crafts an item./crafters profession:lists who has a profession, with skill./crafterson its own gives an overview of the guild's crafters.
The answers only show to you. And with Crafters installed, /item adds a Crafted by line to any item someone crafts. See Discord commands.
Who can change what
Each member manages their own professions and crafts. There are no officer-only controls in Crafters: officers list their own like everyone else. Removing the add-on hides it and keeps everyone's lists.
Example: a raid consumables crew
Your guild wants every raider flasked for progression.
- An officer adds the flasks and potions to the item database, in the Consumables category.
- You install Crafters and ask your alchemists to add Alchemy with their skill and pick the flasks they can make.
- Before raid night, a raider types
/crafters item:and the flask's name in Discord and sees who to send materials to.
Tips and tricks
- Add only the crafts people actually ask for. A short list of useful items beats every recipe in the game.
- Keep skill numbers current after a big leveling push, so By profession shows who's really maxed.
- Members who play alts can list all their professions on one account; mention the alt's name in your guild notes if it matters who to whisper.
- Point new members to Crafters in your welcome thread. It's one of the quickest ways for them to be useful to the guild.
- Pair it with Raid Points awards if your guild rewards crafters who supply the raid.
