SPAWNIX

Plans and billing

What Recruit, Commander and Admiral include, how limits work, and how to upgrade, change or cancel your guild's plan.

Every guild is on one of three plans: Recruit, which is free, or Commander or Admiral, which are paid. The plan belongs to the guild, not to you, and only the guild's owner can change it.

Open Billing from the sidebar (under Admin) to see your plan, what you're using and your options.

What the limits mean

Member accounts are people who sign in to Spawnix. People who only take part from Discord (voting, RSVPing or claiming loot with the bot, without a Spawnix account) are Discord members, and they're free on every plan. See Discord setup.

Open polls counts polls that haven't closed yet. Close one and you can open another.

Limits only stop new additions. When you reach one, Spawnix tells you which limit it is and which plan raises it. Nothing you already have is removed, so a guild that moves down a plan keeps all its members, categories and files; it just can't add more until it's back under the limit.

The Billing page shows a bar for each limit: Members, Forum categories, Open polls and Media storage.

Upgrade

  1. As the owner, go to Billing.
  2. Choose Monthly or Yearly. Yearly saves $36 a year on either plan.
  3. Click Get Commander or Get Admiral (or Start free trial, if a trial is on offer).
  4. If you own other guilds or are starting a trial, tick the box to confirm you understand how pricing works across several guilds.
  5. Pay on Stripe's secure checkout page.

You're brought back to Billing, where you'll see "Payment received. Activating your plan…" for a moment, then "Thanks! Your plan is active." If you back out of checkout, you haven't been charged.

Trials and several guilds

Your first guild's Recruit plan is free for good. If you start more guilds, a few rules apply:

  • Each account gets one free guild. Further guilds you own need a paid plan to open.
  • Your second guild can start with a 14-day free trial, once per account. Cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.
  • When you pay for more than one guild, your most expensive guild pays full price and every other paid guild is 50% off.

The details, with examples, are in multiple guilds.

Change your plan

  1. On Billing, click Change plan.
  2. Pick the plan and billing period, then Switch to that plan.
  3. Read the summary and confirm.

Moving to a more expensive plan charges the difference for the rest of the current billing period straight away. Moving to a cheaper one is credited on your next invoice. If you own other paid guilds, the summary also shows how their prices change.

Card and invoices

Click Cards & invoices to update your card or billing details, or download invoices. It opens Stripe's billing page.

If a payment fails, Billing shows "Your last payment didn't go through". Your plan stays on while Stripe retries the card. Update your card under Cards & invoices to keep it.

Cancel

  1. On Billing, click Cancel plan.
  2. The dialog shows the date your plan ends and how your other guilds' prices change.
  3. Click Cancel plan (or I understand, cancel) to confirm.

Your plan keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for. Then the guild moves to the free Recruit plan, or closes if you already have a free guild. Nothing is deleted either way.

Changed your mind? Click Keep my plan (undo cancel) any time before the plan ends.

Premium items and renown

Commander and Admiral include every premium item in the marketplace and open the premium renown track. If your guild moves back to Recruit, you keep the premium items you're already using, but you can't install new ones, take their updates or use them again. See marketplace.

Renown itself is never sold. It's earned only by playing together, and it never unlocks something a plan pays for. See renown and seasons.

Complimentary plans

Some guilds are given a plan by Spawnix. Billing shows these as Complimentary, and there's nothing to pay or cancel.

Tips and tricks

  • Start on Recruit. Build your site, set up Discord and invite your core group; upgrade when you actually hit a limit, not before.
  • Yearly billing is the cheapest way to run a guild you know you'll keep, at $84 a year for Commander.
  • Need more than 200 member accounts? That's the point to move from Commander to Admiral. Below that, the main difference is storage.
  • Want to try a custom theme before paying? Open the theme panel on Recruit and experiment; only saving needs a paid plan. See site themes.
  • Thinking of deleting a paid guild? Cancel first and wait for the plan to end. See leaving and deleting.
