SPAWNIX

Leaving and deleting

Leave a guild, delete your account or delete a whole guild, and know exactly what each one removes.

There are three ways to step away, and they remove very different amounts. Leaving a guild only takes you out of one guild. Deleting your account removes you from every guild. Deleting a guild removes the guild itself, for everyone.

Every one of them asks you to type a name to confirm, and none of them can be undone.

Who can do it Where
Leave a guild Anyone in two or more guilds, except that guild's owner Account & password
Delete your account Anyone who doesn't own a guild Account & password
Delete a guild The guild's owner Settings

Leave a guild

Leaving takes you out of one guild and keeps your account and your other guilds.

  1. Switch to the guild you want to leave (see multiple guilds).
  2. Open Account & password from your profile menu at the top right.
  3. In the Leave card with the guild's name, click Leave guild.
  4. Type the guild's name and confirm.

You're taken to one of your other guilds.

You can't leave:

  • a guild you own. There's no way to hand a guild to someone else, so the owner stays. To stop running it, delete the guild.
  • your only guild. With nowhere else to go, delete your account instead.

Delete your account

Deleting your account removes you from Spawnix completely.

  1. Open Account & password.
  2. In Delete my account, click Delete my account.
  3. Type your username and confirm.

This deletes your sign-in and your place in every guild you're in, with your profiles, ranks and renown in each.

Forum posts you wrote stay in each guild's forums, shown as from a deleted user, so conversations still make sense.

If you own a guild

You can't delete your account on its own while you own a guild. Delete the guilds you own first, from their Settings. When you delete the only guild your account is in, your account is deleted with it.

Delete a guild

Only the owner can delete a guild.

Before you start: cancel any paid plan

A guild on Commander or Admiral can't be deleted while its plan is running, so nobody is billed for a guild that's gone.

  1. Go to Billing and click Cancel plan. See plans and billing.
  2. Wait for the plan to end. A cancelled plan keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for, and the guild can be deleted once it has.

A complimentary plan doesn't need cancelling.

Delete it

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. At the bottom, in Delete guild, click Delete guild.
  3. Type the guild's name and confirm.

What's deleted

Everything in the guild goes:

  • the website and all its pages;
  • forums, events, polls, rosters and loot;
  • every uploaded file in the media library;
  • every member's place in the guild, with their renown and profile there, including yours.

What happens to the people:

  • Members who also belong to other guilds keep those guilds and their accounts.
  • Members whose only guild this was have their accounts deleted with it. That includes you, if it's your only guild.
  • Members with a confirmed email get a message saying the guild was deleted.

If you're in other guilds, you carry on in one of them. If this was your free guild and another guild of yours is waiting for a plan, that one becomes your free guild.

Tips and tricks

  • Give your members a heads-up in Discord before deleting a guild. The email tells them it's gone, not why.
  • Moving to a new guild for the same game? Set up the new one before deleting the old, so your members have somewhere to go.
  • Just want a break? You don't have to delete anything. A free Recruit guild can sit quietly for as long as you like.
  • Download anything you want to keep from the media library before deleting a guild. Every file goes with it.
  • Only want a different role or rank? Ask an admin to change it rather than leaving. Leaving wipes your renown in that guild for good.
